A wide-margined copy in contemporary half blindstamped pigskin over oak boards; worn, decorated metal catch (clasp missing), spine with 3 raised bands, front cover with floral stamps, lower cover with rectangular and circular stamps, endpapers renewed, some marginal soiling, old underlinings and annotations, pointing hands etc., small dampstain to top corner of final quires.
Old ownership inscriptions to title, i.a. of Mainz Capuchines; stamp of Rita A. Brenner.
Rare Lyon edition of the ”Vitas patrum” ascribed to St. Jerome, but actually an anonymous medieval popular collection of the lives of the desert fathers.
