Half tan morocco, raised bands and red morocco label to spine, pictorial wrappers and backstrip bound in, top edge gilt, else uncut (Herzog’s, Stockholm). Very fine. 
 
Out of a total edition of 2000 + 40 copies, this is no 1832, printed on ”velin pur fil”.
 
Belgian playwright, poet, and essayist Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949) was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1911, especially for his dramatic works. His symbolist play Pelléas and Mélisande (1892) inspired several musical compositions at the turn of the 20th century, by William Wallace, Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy, Arnold Schoenberg, and Jean Sibelius respectively.
